Some teams want to ensure they comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). According to the below website, "The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act generally prohibits website operators from knowingly collecting personally identifiable information from children under 13 without parental consent."
Our websites and apps are not directed at children; they are designed for swim team coaches, admins and parents to use. So while you basically need to add a privacy policy to the site and place a prominent link to it on your home page if you want to comply with the act, it does not appear the act applies to our products since we are not targeting children under 13; any information we collect about kids is intended to come from adults.
